The Minnesota Valley Humane Society is lucky enough to receive dozens of comment cards, letters, and emails from adopters each month. MVHS Staff and Volunteers enjoy reading these letters and discovering how our "alumni" are doing in their new homes.

We think other people would enjoy reading these stories, too, so we're starting an "MVHS Extended Family Album" here on the website.

If YOU adopted a pet from MVHS and would like your family included in our online album, send us your pet's story (a few sentences or a few paragraphs), and a photo of your pet and (if you wish) family members. Please include year of adoption (or how long you've had the pet), pet's name, and names of family members if and as you wish them included. (For example, "Rex and the Andersons" or "Fluffy with Kate and Mike")

Selected stories and pictures will also be featured in our Amazing Things Happen newsletter.

Mail to MVHS - Family Album, 1313 East Highway 13, Burnsville, MN 55337. Or send an email to KrisM@mvhspets.org. Please include your name, address, and telephone number for verification (we will never sell your name, address, or phone). Photos sent by email must be JPG and under 60kb. Paper photos will not be returned. We reserve the right to edit all submissions.

Max was adopted in November of 2003 after 64 days at MVHS. His new family says that during a visit to MVHS, Max caught her eye and purred his way into her heart. "When I got him home, he gave me a couple of cat kisses and curled up in my arms. I constantly tell him what a handsome fellow I think he is and how glad I am that he came to live with me -- and I think he is beginning to believe it."

Bundy, a former stray, was adopted from MVHS in May of 2002. He has become a loyal, loving member of his new family. He is extremely playful, and loves to fetch tennis balls. He loves toys and has accumulated quite acollection! His favorite activity is going to local off-leash dog parks.

Izzy was adopted in August of 2002 and has since moved to Iowa. She can be found most of the day looking out the window She has asjusted very well to her new suroundings and is a really great cat. Thanks Minnesota Valley Humane Society for a great companion.

When making a decision to get another dog, I went to the website for about a month to see what was out there. Never would I have ever guessed that I would end up with not only a big dog, but such a gentle, loving, extremely well trained friend. We took Jade home in June and we cannot imagine life without her. Jade makes a great work partner for my husband as well. This is the only way to go. We needed her as much as she needed us. Thank you MVHS! Jade says thank you as well.

Mrs Brown was adopted in April of 1993 and is still enjoying life. Mrs Brown was under a year-old when adopted (she had just weened puppies), and although she is ten years older now, she still enjoys visiting, and talking with, the staff and volunteers at MVHS.

Your pet's photo could go here! Text can be longer than these examples.

Olivia (originally Keeper) was adopted from MVHS in September and is a great addition to her new family. She is the most popular girl at the dog park and loves to play fetch. She's not always perfect, but is loved anyway!

Ophelia, adopted from MVHS, is getting settled into her new home. her family has made the conclusion that THEY are actually Ophelia's pets!

Owen, adopted January 2001 after 6 months at MVHS. The staff used to joke that he liked MVHS so much, he'd act up when potential adopters came. His new owners said, "He’s very calm and laid back, except for playtime, then he loves to run and chase sticks. We are very happy to have him. He is part of the family."

Riena is an original MVHS alumni- adopted in 1991 (the year MVHS opened our facility in 1991). She's about 14 now, so each year is another blessing. Her family is thankful for every day of happiness MVHS brought them through Riena.

Sammy was adopted in May of 2003. His Mom says he's "truly a happy well-adjusted dog, with a perky sense of humor". "How great it was to adopt an adult dog, who was already house trained, could follow basic commands, and was already past the puppy 'chewing'stages...I'd recommend it to anyone!"

Franklin was adopted in February 2003 thanks to his picture posted on our website. Franklin enjoys watching traffic out the window, sitting on his Mom's desk chair and taking over her bed as his own.

Smokey, adopted 1991. "Had been abused, but learned to trust again in loving home. He taught me about facing your fears. Still sweet and kitten-playful at 18 years old! He has huge green eyes not seen in this silly photo."

Spice was adopted in October 2003 after spending about 60 days at MVHS. His new family says " We were immediately captivated by his curiosity and how he answered to his name, and we now think he is a joy and the coolest cat ever! Adopting an adult cat was wonderful, since there were no training issues to worry about, and we feel incredibly lucky to have found him. Thanks for your great work at MVHS!"

Spirit's family has many pictures of her already. They call her "Miss Prissy". It took a week, but now she and her feline brother, Adrian, are pals.

Talina was adopted from MVHS a year ago this past spring. Mom, Julie, "She is the naughtiest cat that ever lived and she thinks she's the queen.... but we love her like crazy."

Timber (1999) was the first pet adopted primarily because of our website. His new family are MN dairy farmers who appreciate his size (large) and self-cleaning Samoyed coat. "He's smart and eager to please. Already he understands cows. We love him... He has definitely found his home."

Taz was adopted from MVHS around 1992 or so. Mom, Julie "He's not sure if he's a people or if the rest of us (people) are cats. He's a big sweetheart."
