Spaying or neutering your pet is an essential part of being a responsible pet owner. For this reason, the Minnesota Valley Humane Society spays or neuters most animals prior to adoption. We will also try to help local families who cannot afford to spay or neuter their pet.

To learn about the benefits of spaying or neutering your pet visit here.

How much does a spay or neuter cost?
When making the decision to adopt an animal it is important to consider all associated costs such as food, veterinarian visits and miscellaneous supplies.

Spaying or neutering is a one-time surgery with a one-time cost. However, the procedures offer a lifetime of benefits. Costs range from $50 to $200 depending on age, weight, sex, and type of animal. Generally, cats cost less than dogs and neutering males costs less than spaying females.
